Changing times
I thought I was hearing things at first but as Will read the part of God at last night’s Good Friday service at church, it was painfully clear. Will’s voice has changed.
I thought it would be like Peter Brady on the Brady Bunch, kind of a gradual thing. But it took only a week or so for Will’s voice to change. I think he’s still working out some of the kinks, at times you hear his old voice, then at times you hear this new voice that doesn’t sound quite right yet.
A double whammy
Will is growing up fast and he got a double dose of reality this week. Not only has his voice grown deeper, but on Thursday a girl called him.
You could tell that, at first, Will was pretty excited. She wanted Will go to a skating party, so Will invited a friend and they’re planning to go to the party. Undoubtedly Will will have a person to skate with during the pair skating.
Then again …
This girl has proceeded to call Will several times throughout the day (the kids didn’t have school on Friday). She even called after 11:00 last night. Will doesn’t enjoy talking on the phone and I think he’s beginning to feel like he’s being stalked.
All in all, this might not be a bad lesson for Will to learn. Sometimes girls’ expectations are different than boys’ expectations. And by “sometimes” I mean “always.”
It’s good he’s learning this now. That and the proper steps to obtaining a restraining order.
